Freshwater tank overflow location

Wondering if my 2014 Hideout 23 RBWE freshwater tank has an overflow hose exiting below the floor enclosed space to the street below. I do have a 3/8” screened open port next to my fill opening port.

I’ve only filled my tank to 2/3 full, and have never seen any water spilling out or under anywhere.

My son has a Jayco 26’ trailer, and has TWO freshwater tanks, each of which have an overflow hose. He recently has installed a simple Open/Close valve on each hose due to loss of water when traveling, due to a siphoning affect.

Do I have TWO freshwater tanks with one outside ‘Fill opening’? As he may have?
Jayco claims the reason for two tanks is being shallow (about 6” deep) the tanks have room to fit below floor in the so called ‘basement’.

Western Montana

You likely have a gravity fill port that you can fill the tank from. Also likely, you only have one of those external fill ports. If that is correct, you only have one fresh water tank. And that ‘overflow port’ is really a vent to allow air into and out of the tank.

And is the little hole above the fill hole

The 3/8” screened hole next to the fill is the vent/overflow. There should also be a white drain line underneath the camper with either a valve or cap. Mine is a stub of 1/2” PEX with a 1/4-turn valve. But it is a drain, not an overflow.

Ok, that is what I thought. It seems to me the Keystone method of freshwater control system makes it simpler and less hassle between travel and camping than my sons Jayco method.

Thanks for verification from all three Reply’s.
