Refrigerator roof vent cover replacement

Looks like the roof vent cover for my ridge is about to fall completely off. Where can I find the best price on a replacement for this?

You'll need to do a bit of "shopping" to get the best price. Any RV dealer should have them in stock and they're available for most internet RV parts sites as well as from Amazon and EBay.

Keep in mind that the vent system is really two parts, a base assembly that screws to the roof of your RV and a lid assembly that screws to the base assembly. You didn't indicate which is "about to fall off" so you may need just the lid assembly (about $20) or you may need the base assembly complete with a new lid (about $30).

If the base assembly is what is "about to fall off" then you will need to dig a bit deeper to make sure that the roof structure (EPDM/TPO roof membrane and underlying OSB paneling) are both in good condition. If the base assembly has come loose because of water damage/wood rot, you'll need to repair the damage before installing a replacement vent.

And the lid comes in different sizes depending on brand of fridge. Best to measure twice and order once.

As Chuckster said, they are "brand specific". If you have a Dometic refrigerator, a Norcold roof vent top won't fit the Dometic base assembly. So, make sure you either take the "part you need" with you so you can get the correct one or get all the information from it so you can tell the parts guy what you need. To walk in and say, "I want a refrigerator roof vent top cap." will get you questions like, "Which one?" or "Dometic or Norcold?" or "OEM or after market?" or "22" or 20"?"

Take the old one with you when you go to the RV store. They are so cheap it's not worth shopping around.

If I were looking for a new one I'd most likely spend a little extra and get one with the solar panel on top that drives a cooling fan within it. A little extra air movement on a hot day is a good thing.
