How do I fix this?

I can poke it back in place but it comes back out right away. It appears to be 3/4" wide.

Poking it back in is probably why it comes back out. If you look at how the edges are located on the area where it is still intact, you'll notice that you should have to pinch the material together before placing it back in and that should allow it to relax and take grip after you have released it.

Follow around the edge of that screw strip covering and where it’s seamed at remove it at end toward where it has popped out of track channel. Now start at area where it popped out and and pinch together and let edges fit into channel groove and continue to work it back around toward other end still in place in the channel track.

If there is a small gap where ends of seal meet you can remove and reinstall stretching just a tad as you work it back into the channel. Make sure both sides engage in the channel

Sometimes, during installation, the vinyl strip will get stretched slightly. Then, as the strip begins to shrink back, it becomes too short. You can try to GENTLY stretch the vinyl so that it is longer or you can replace the strip (easy to do) being careful not to stretch the material as you replace it. You can buy the vinyl in rolls of 25' and 100' on Amazon.

We had to replace the vinyl strips on the front of our Passport. We used the heavy duty instead of the standard which hopefully will help.

Had to replace those strips a couple years ago. It's just the vinyl material shrinking as it gets old.

Yup....

That said, by comparison, vinyl shrinks when it ages, skin sags when it ages... I wonder if we could figure out some kind of vinyl cream to counteract sagging skin ??? Might make the forum and every member wealthy (with youthful looks) if we could perfect some way to make us "shrink rather than sag".....

I believe I have found a fix, only time will tell. I reinserted the vinyl trim and put a small dab of clear silicone on the corners. I'm not crazy about silicone but occasionally it has it's place. Hoping this is one of them. The real test will come when the winter temps drop to zero and the vinyl shrinks.

Plastic surgery? Seems to work well on some celebrities.

Sure does, and some of them wind up with a face that looks more "vinyl" than "skin" LOL

Before you put it back in the track, put a few dabs of silicone adhesive on the inside of the track. That should help hold it in.

Mine did it on my 2016 Hideout and I found that the channel walls were sprung open just so slightly on the corners from the oem forming process. This didn't supply enough grip for the weather stripping to stay secure. I tapped the areas down with a small plastic dead blow hammer so that they looked even and not sprung out anymore. Problem solved and it looks better than factory.

I did the same as jspulliam21. However I threw away that cheesie vinyl plastic stuff. I found a product by JR something, something which appears to be more of a rubber than plastic. Works wonderful. Also I did not screw the ends down as originally installed. It was embarrassing driving down the road and having a big long black piece of vinyl flapping around.
