Laredo 255SRL propane line

Anyone else has a 2019 255SRL should check the propane line for the stove, it is behind the front tire on the door side. A blowout or flat tire is going to take it out.

I noticed the bad routing of the line this summer, and tried to get the dealer to route it inside the frame rail, but Keystone would not approve the repair under warranty. The only thing they would approve was the work done in the last photo.

It's not the ideal solution.

Who thought running a propane line behind the tire, and draped over the skirt support was a good idea.

I agree that some of this stuff is crazy. The propane line on our 2005 Copper Canyon 5er is black iron from tank almost to the rear of the 5er. The furnace is the first item "T" off of the black iron just past the rear axles, but located inside the frame rail, now another 6" so I could mount after market shocks.

I've seen more that were behind the tire than that weren't... Most "RV engineering" (term used loosely) is more about weight, balance, cost than about safety... From that "engineering perspective" the tires aren't supposed to blow, so there's no problem putting the line there. If it should blow, the backup protection is the pressure cutoff valve in the propane tank...…
