Gooseneck to 5th wheel hitch....
Just wondering if anyone here has adapted a gooseneck hitch to a 5th wheel hitch. I know that B&W makes a hitch that will fit onto a gooseneck. Anyone done this?

You have a 2021 trailer. Lippert is very particular about what they warrant for their frames and goosenecks aren't. Maybe a Goosebox.....from Lippert?

The hitch located under the bed is by B&W. I have found the hitch that they sell that adapts to the gooseneck. Don't want to have to buy a new hitch but if I decide on this truck that's what I'll do.

Goosebox is Reese, not Lippert, but you're right in that they won't warranty the frame if anything but that is used for a gooseneck conversion.
Lippert bought Curt, not Reese. Reese is still owned by Horizon Global.

However, Lippert will only warrant the Reese Goosebox on their trailer frames... no other gooseneck adapter is acceptable.

We pretty much all know that Lippert and Reese are two different companies.. but again... Lippert the frame manufacturer will not warranty their frame if any gooseneck adapter is used... other than the Reese GooseBall...
Is that what you're try to convey ????

It's what I did convey. Sorry you couldn't comprehend.
And what I was correcting was the previous statement: "You have a 2021 trailer. Lippert is very particular about what they warrant for their frames and goosenecks aren't. Maybe a Goosebox.....from Lippert?"
So it looks like not everyone understands they're separate.

I bought a Curt X5. Sounds like it might be what you’re looking for.

You might want to define the term "separate"....
Take a look at the "origins of the Reese Goosebox" and you'll see that it was, is and has been a "Lippert manufactured product"....
There's a "reason" why Lippert approved the Goosebox not to violate the warranty on Lippert frames. It's because they designed and built it.
https://rvbusiness.com/lippert-named...ese-goose-box/
https://www.prnewswire.com/news-rele...127893378.html
https://ih.advfn.com/stock-market/NY...ive-supplier-o
In the past, LCI has either "outright owned" or been the "major investor with controlling interest" in Cequent Performance Products, who owns Reese Towing Equipment...
So, the "intertwined web of investments, ownership and management of the Reese Goosebox" does directly go back to Lippert who initially made the product as the "Exclusive supplier".....
The relationship is much closer than "first cousins".... There should be no doubt why Reese Goosebox is the "only approved system".... It's a "Lippert product"....

We have a Lippert Goosebox. Optioned for this since we may use the same truck to pull one of our other goose neck trailers.

I have the setup you are talking about. Both b&w gooseneck and 5th wheel hitch companion. Only towed with it once so cant really give any feedback.

I have a B&W goose neck type. NO issues with Lipert. I like the fact it is easily removable, and very versatile. They make both the regular hitch and slider hitch. Thousands of 5th wheel campers have them. They are rock solid. I wouldn't hesitate a second to buy a truck with one. Hope that helps.

The truck I had purchased to pull our Fusion Toy Hauler came with a B&W goose neck hitch. I did not want to convert, concerned with the extra twisting moment produced by the extended arm length of the goose box. We purchased the B&W Companion 5th and have never had any problems. I like the fact that gooseneck frame is bolted directly to the truck frame and the 5th wheel drops into the turnball receiver providing better transference of the load and lower center of gravity.

Got the B&W hitch installed last week. Seems very solid. We’re going over Labor Day, so I’ll get a great sense of how it tows. The truck even has a self leveling rear suspension. Not really familiar with it….there must be a small compressor located in the rear and some soon pressure switch. Pretty neat….no need for a set of air bags.
