Dogs are definitely the best alarm system you can have!

I have never had any issue with theft, the trailer is never locked, there is no alley behind our property and the dog goes crazy any time anyone is behind the house.

After 10 days after camping, we got home and filed a report and called the insurance company. We would have done it sooner but we were 200 miles away. Anyway, we discovered our canopy and hammock were also missing, so got that reported, too.
I hope the police catch that sorry low-life.

Look up your items on your local Craigslist or Facebook marketplace…thief probably advertised them on there….don’t show your cards and if you find them you can notify police to hopefully meet at the selling location

Thanks jasin1.
I hadn’t thought of that, but I did think about going to th local pawn shop. I kinda figured the loser may have taken stuff there or to someplace to sell the copper.

Poppy, without trying to start a liberal/conservative discussion, the vast majority of judges will take the plea deal and the varmint will only see probation.
Better that you never know who did it. It would not make your day.

Your probably right… after looking at the items taken after I posted I’d say more then likely there is a homeless camp with a fancy tent with an awning and 30 amp shore power cord.
And if you have to take a day or three just to go to court to see that transpire it may make you even more upset.

I’ve been thinking about mounting a inexpensive dash cam around the top of my refrigerator. It is directly across from the door. The one I purchased for my truck has a motion detection and will shut down until. And since I have a large battery bank and solar panels I’m not worried about the power draw. With a 64 gig memory card I think it would record for almost a week before it starts over writing the card.
Mine is either stored behind the house next to the garages or on the street in front of the house. Either way I would be checking on it every few days.

I don't know the property situation there but I think I would be looking for another way to store the trailer. Boy, that would really get under my skin and trying to secure everything on an open, exposed trailer, even in a fenced storage area is virtually impossible.
If they got the power cable for copper might be hard to find/trace. I figure they would just burn it, take the copper to a metal facility that buys the stuff and dispose of it. Then again, since they have now taken your canopy and awning along with the other stuff and tried to take your outdoor kitchen.....maybe they're trying to "upgrade" their existing trailer...

I think I’ve thought over just about everything that’s been mentioned in this thread. We’re even considering selling and moving to the country, but my wife just retired last year and we don’t want her to go back to work. But, we are still looking.
Notanlines, I know what you are saying is right, but I’m more interested in ruining their day, more so than making my day.
I did find out though, that my problem is small compared to another storage place that’s close. Their facility was broken into, several units robbed, the gate left open and a travel trailer was stolen. I’m wondering if it was done about the same time by the same person.
BTW, I appreciate all the comments and suggestions. I’ve looked at FB and Marketplace and Craigslist, and the local pawnshop. Made a list and took pics for insurance.
In the mean time, I’ll start prepping for the next trip.
Happy Independence Day, everyone. Don’t forget to pray for our men and women in service for our country. IF YOU DONT LOVE IT, LEAVE IT!!!
