And Away We Go!!
Hello all, we just purchased our first RV trailer. We're picking up our 2021 Impact 367 this morning and I will be hauling it with a Ford F250.
Looking forward to lots of family fun over the years!

Nice TH, but seems like a lot of 5er for a SRW TV.

That camper has a gross weight of 17000 lbs. Typical tongue weight is almost 4000 lbs. Not sure any 3/4 ton has sufficient payload and rhagfo was right on the money. With passenger, cargo and "stuff" in the truck as well as the hitch, you are looking close to 5000 lbs payload. John3Dtraveler.... curious what the payload sticker in your driver door frame says.... yellow/white placard.

So.... You are going about the numbers wrong. The trailer has a GVW of 17,000lbs. Pin weight is 20-25% when loaded normally. I'll use 22.5% to split the difference. 22.5% of 17,000 is 3,825lbs. That your pin weight, counts as cargo weight on the the truck payload. Your hitch counts as cargo weight against your payload also. Then is people weight and anything else added to the truck in the bed or the cab. All those count against your payload also.
So 3,825 + 200(hitch)+800 people (from your post above)=4,825lbs payload needed.
You have a 10,000lb gvw truck so your truck full of fuel and nothing else needs to weigh 5,175lbs for the math to work.
I have a 3500 with only 3900lbs of payload. That trailer requires a dually to tow it legally/safely.

Post the yellow/white sticker on the drivers door post, it will state "occupants and cargo must not exceed XXXX lbs" which as already stated is hitch weight + the weight of the hitch + everyone/everything in the truck.
With your 14807 GVW that's 3000+ lbs for pin weight + 100-125+ lbs for the hitch + 800 lbs of people your already at 3900+/- lbs needed for payload.

Well as stated before using dream numbers.
Based on the numbers you supplied, using dry pin weight you will be 416# over payload.
Now the pin will increase with items loaded into 5er. bases on your trailer GVW of 14,807# x 22% = 3,258#, now easily 704# over GVWR.
Now load your truck up with passengers, hitch and cargo normally carried in the truck and go to the scales, your available payload will be less than you think. In addition when you take your trailer with you you will be surprised how much it weighs.

Welcome to the forum!
I have a fifth wheel with a 12000+ gvwr ...a lot lighter then yours
I traded out my Ram 2500 because I was over my weight limits.
Keep an open mind ..I have a Ram 3500 dually now and it’s a night and day difference in towing stability.
Trucks are bringing a premium now and you may be surprised that you could trade out of your truck and get into a dually or at the very least a 1 ton srw without too much of a financial hit

The numbers quoted do not exist for truck or trailer in the "real world".
First the truck, An online "towing guide is not your truck. Have added anything to the truck since you purchased it? Everything come of the payload numbers not in/on the truck from the factoryb such as bed liner, miud flaps, tool box, tools, floor mats, added lights, and even the tooth picks in the console. The tire inflation sticker will give you a load number when it left the factory. Load the truck up with people and stuff for a camping trip and go visit a scale. Then you will KNOW what available payload yo have remaining.
Second the trailer, The advertised weights arejust that, an advertisment. That "shipping weight" doesn't exist once it leaves the factory and often is busted before it leaves. Read the disclaimers on the Keystone site. The "shipping weight" does not include any options. Add a second a/c unit it's optional. There are also some "option pkgs" that come on the trailer automatically. Sort of like cars, you know the light pkg option that every car has or the keyless entry pkg that every car has.
The "shipping pin weight" is no where near accurate. That is based on an empty trailer, no propane in the tanks no battery, and no spare tire.. 5 Th wheelers have most of the storage up front, very close to or directly over the pin. Therefore when empty the % of the gross weight to pin weight is lower. Pin weight is 20-25% of the ACTUAL weight of the unit, that means loaded up as you use it. So the typical fiver with a forward bedroom will have closets full of clothing, shoes, bed linens, quilts, etc. Add a washer/dryer and it goes up more.
Then there's that nice big front storage compartment where tools, cribbing, wheel chocks, water hoses, electrical extension cords, outdoor chairs, grills, patio mats, and recreation things like fishing gear, bean bag toss game, etc. Then there's the kitchen gear, food, drinks, etc. So not having the trailer loaded up to weighon the scales the only way to calculate that pin weight is to take the GVWR of the trailer and multiply by .23 to calculate 23%. You will be much closer to the GVW of that trailer than the phantom "shipping weight". Doing so will hopefully result in some GVW left unused so that is just a good safety margin. Most folks end up accumulating more stuff over time, sort of like the difference between the available storage on your new phone and what is remaining after you add all those "gotta have" apps and stored photos.
I know you may be feeling overwhelmed with all this info. And it's natural to feel like you're being "picked on" and confused why folks are telling you this while the pleasent nice salesman told you just the opposite but most of us have been in your shoes and are trying to help. Good luck and stay safe.

Welcome to the forum. Lots of good advise here.
Sounds like a lot of trailer for a 250 so be careful and good luck.

Hmmm...well, I'm installing 5000# airbags Friday. The only F350's available in my area are either cab & chassis or $95,000 rigs. The world has a shortage of everything apparently!
I currently have an XLT and if an XLT F350 was available I may consider upgrading the truck but.....
