50 Amp Shore Power Question

Hi All,
We have a 2019 Keystone Cougar 366 RDS. I'm brand new to the RV world, and this is my first post. My question is about the 50 Amp shore power wiring. We want to connect to a solar array that is 100 feet away, and I need to know what size wire to use. Here's my question: Is the 50 Amp cable 25 Amps on each of the hot wires, or actually 50 Amps on each wire? The difference is wire size is either #1 or #3/0. The cost difference is about $550 vs $800.

50A service is actually 2 legs of 50A for a total of 100A. What are you trying to accomplish?

We want to make sure we run the correct size wire so we can fully utilize both A/C units and everything else.

Your trying to operate 2 AC's on just solar? That's a very ambitious goal

have you calculated the amps needed to run them and you can get that much from the panels?

The solar array is rated at 4 KW. With a auto start backup generator.

As long as it’s producing 4K watts, you might be okay. RVs with 2 AC’s that I have dealt with have 5500W of gen power. AC units aren’t going to be the only items drawing power, you would have to turn things off to make sure you have enough watts /amps for both units.
