Adding a rear platform for Kayaks - Generator

I would like to add a platform off the back of my Avalanche 345TG. It has no trailer hitch now so was thinking of removing the 4" sewer hose tube and welding support arms to the exposed frame. Extend them out for a 24 to 30" platform. Can then fab up a way to carry the kayaks and some day a generator.

Has anyone done this?
Is the 5th wheel frame strong enough to support a couple hundred pounds or so?
It would also have a vertical post attached to tie off the kayaks up about 6 feet.

Thanks

Welding a receiver onto the frame would be the best way to do it. I’ve seen them added just below the square tube bumper. And just so you know, it’s a BOUNCY ride back there.

I added one to mine, it had the bumper with receiver on it so I used the existing mount & added one more to the rear.

Thanks CHUCKSTER57 Was thinking of an actual receiver but thought they would "wiggle" around too much being 10' high..

77cruser, I like the bolt on idea for the platform. Is it easy to remove?

Not bad block the rear pull back bolts drop it down & do the front.
I should say I've drug mine a few times, coming out of a steep approach, & been going to raise it up a bit but haven't got to it.

Thanks for the info. Will design a higher one also. I did drag my sewer hose bumper once so elevating is a good idea!
