Onan gen install

So I'm going to be purchasing a 4000 watt Onan Gen pack, just wondering if anyone has installed one in their unit.

Our unit is a 2014 Cougar High Country 36RES.

I feel pretty confident that it will go in the front basement, should it be insulated and blocked off from the battery pack that is sitting in the right side of the compartment.

Any input, links and/or comments would be muchly appreciated!

Lots of things to consider BEFORE you take on this project:

Is the unit "gen prepped? IF NOT THEN:
what fuel are you going to user?
It is supposed to be in a "box" separated from the storage compartment and vented through the bottom
You will need a transfer switch, and are you going to use remote start?

I have put lots of gens in both units with and without prep. It can be done you just have to make sure you have all the components on hand.

First off I am not sure if it is Genset ready, I suspect that it is not, so I would have to acquire a Transfer switch, it is a gas system so I will have to set up a fuel containment system as well.

As for the remote start, that may have to wait for a little bit.

I am enlisting a good buddy who runs a Repair/Install shop, he has worked on these generators in the past so I feel relativley confidant that he can perform this for me.
