Hole in front cap

I was up on a ladder today cleaning bugs off the front cap and noticed a hole in the fiberglass beside one of the top marker lights. The white outer layer is gone but it looks like there is still solid fiberglass underneath. As this is the cap and not the roof would some silicone over the hole be an acceptable repair or would something else be better?

You're probably in the "worst possible location" to use my suggestion, but here it is anyway.... Find a good marine repair facility that does fiberglass repair and have them look at it. That's probably your most "reliable" fiberglass repair location and they will work on RV's as well as boats..... Good Luck

My only objection to using white silicone is that in a year or two it will either start to yellow or it will turn black (mold) and silicone is very difficult to "patch" or "touch up" with another coat. If it weren't for that, I'd also say to just clean it with some alcohol and "smear on a good dab of silicone"... With a little "smoothing" it will look pretty good. It's just how well it holds up for the long term.....
