Bullet 248RKS Electrical Issues

Brand new 248RKS is blowing the 15-amp fuse for the "interior 2" zone (2nd fuse in bank). It constantly blows, and does so immediately. This particular fuse controls the fridge, light & fan above the stove, and three ceiling lights (2 in the kitchen and 1 above the couch in the slide). I'm guessing that I have a short somewhere in the line.

It is brand new and I am going to take it back to the dealer, but I was just wondering if anyone knows of any issues with this particular model.

Thanks.

Better let the dealer fix that one. You would need to isolate each fixture on the circuit until you identified the particular line or fixture causing the issue. Good luck.

It is most likely a workmanship issue, probably a pinched wire under a light fixture or a short between a couple wires in a junction box or appliance. It is just going to take them to start at one end until they find the problem. We had a problem in ours well beyond the warranty period, where a few wires were crimped together, and because they didn't take care when putting the wires into the insulated cap, one of the wires eventually came loose, knocking out 12 volt power to the bedroom TV.

Where did you by it? I hope it was Alpin Haus or Pete's because I have used them both for my Cougar for Warranty and they were great.

Actually got it at Camping World, and they too have been great. They even had somebody pick it up today, and they're going to deliver it back to me when it's fixed. I've really been extremely impressed with the customer service I have received from them.

Welcome to the forum and Congrats on your purchase. I have the same model and the electrical has not been a problem. Please let us know what the dealer finds so we will be aware. Thanks! Hope you get the trailer back ASAP so you can go enjoy it!

Turned out to be a screw in the slide that had been screwed through a wire!

Re: Bullet 248RKS Electrical Issues

Same issue in my Keystone Cougar. 2 months old, #2 amp blowing. I gotta find my screw or whatever it is. I cant get camping world to pick mine up. I just bought the truck and am about to get the 5th wheel hitch installed. I guess I should have bought the truck before the rv.
