I have a 2011 Keystone Cougar 324. where is my converter and is there a way to check if it is functioning properly. I am 200 miles from nearest dealer.

Your converter is a separate unit mounted to the back of your circuit breaker/DC fuse panel. You should unplug shore power so there is no AC on the unit before you pull the face plate off of the circuit breaker panel. The converter is bolted to the back of that assembly.

Unless your trailer is different than mine, a simple, albeit crude, test to find out if your converter is working correctly is to turn on all of the interior and exterior lights.

The majority of the lights, if not all, are powered by the 12V output of the converter. You should be able to turn on the majority of the lights without excessive dimming.

Another fast test is to use an OHM meter at the battery(s). If the converter is operating correctly you'll see 13VDC minimum.

Typically if your convertor is starting to fail it might start to hum louder than normal or you can hear it working harder and the lights start to dim....That's what started with our 3 years old OEM convertor.

Don't know as you're converter will be integrated with the power panel. It may be separate and located somewhere like ours, under the steps to the bedroom.

As JRTJH mentioned, Make sure the AC is off before removing the fuse panel.

But....before you do that, the lights and fans are 12volt so the simplest thing to check first is that system:

Check the fuses in the converter (right side of converter panel when you open it).

Battery - What is the charge you measure with your multimeter?

The WFCO converter manual has a section the shows you step by step for testing that converter.

Why do you think your convertor isn't functioning? Lights dimming?
