dual holding tanks

Hello all,
Just took possession of my 361TG and this is my first 5er and first experience with dual holding tanks. My question is how is this plumbed? do all sinks and shower go to both grey tanks? does the front toilet go to the front black tank and the rear toilet go to the rear black tank? just need to know if the rear is getting full to make kids go to the front?
Anyways...thanks!

You probably have the black and gray tank side by side under the bath area, black for toilet and gray for all the other bath drains. You will have a galley (gray) tank close to the kitchen area, separate drain valve for that tank, and the fresh tank will probably be near the rear of the trailer. The two gray tanks only connect to the main drain, and you will have a total of three drain valves. The normal suggested drain sequence if you are draining all the tanks, would be black first, then galley, and then finally gray, so as to clean the drain hoses a bit prior to storing for travel.

If yours is plumbed like my 341TG you will have two blacks, a grey and a galley tank. The main shower and sink drains into your front grey. The toilet into the front black. The levers should be located in you front water service area. The kitchen sink drains into its own tank (second grey handle towards rear). Your back bathroom toilet and sink both drain into your rear black.

The black and gray tanks up front should be plumbed so the black is for toilet waste, the gray for shower/bathroom sink waste. The question there is whether the washer is plumbed to the black tank (it is in some) or whether it is plumbed to the gray tank.

As for the main coach tanks, the kitchen sink and the second bath sink should be plumbed to the gray tank and the second toilet should have its own black tank.

It doesn't appear that you have an outside sink, but if you do, it may be plumbed into either the rear black or gray tank.

I know this is not conclusive, and to find out where the washer is plumbed, you could open the front gray tank valve, run the washer and see if water comes out during the drain cycle. If it does, you'll know, if it doesn't, then it's most likely plumbed to the black tank. To be sure where the rear bathroom sink is plumbed, open the rear gray tank valve, run water in the second bathroom sink, if it comes out of the discharge, it's plumbed into the rear gray tank, if not, then it's plumbed into the rear black tank.

It appears that you have 85 gallons of black and 85 gallons of gray water capacity. That would probably mean 4 equally sized holding tanks, each with a 42 gallon capacity.

Hope this helps,

It has black and grey handles for front and back and that is why I was curious. is there anywhere to get a schematic for this? the guy who did my delivery just agreed to all of my questions kind of annoying. I know I will figure it out but was hoping one of y'all would know.

That does help! I will try that this weekend...do not have W/D so that will not be an issue.
85 gallons of crap is a lot of crap so I should be fine! lol But with 4 daughters, I'm sure they will find a way to fill it!

Daughters (and sons) do have a way of filling holding tanks quite rapidly. Our daughter used to let the water run while brushing her teeth and combing her hair. I never could understand how the sound of running water made her hair comb better LOL

You should caution all of the women in your family to not flush any feminine sanitary articles down the toilet. They have a way of plugging the exit valves and causing all kinds of problems. Also any "baby wipes" or other "pre-moistened cloths" will not disintegrate in the holding tanks and will prove to be a problem in the future. We've got members who have had to clean valve seats on the dump valves more than once because of kids that flush the wrong things down the toilet. Many of the valve seats are more than an arm's length inside the frame rails, so that means taking down the underbelly to do the work. Much easier to simply not flush them in the first place.

The sign on the head of my friends boat reads." put nothing in the toilet that you haven't yet eaten" it's an image but true.
