Blowout - much damage
I had my 2012 Fuzion 302Toy Hauler for 6 months. 2 tires split open on the inside before my first trip. In the first 200 miles of a 6700 mile trip, a bad blowout out causing $4500 damage to the side of the RV.
The factory 10 ply tires are a joke for this rig. Switched all 4 to Vanguard 14 ply, went 6500 miles without a problem. Why doesn't Keystone put the correct tire on, and charge the little amount more.

money ... they bang so many out .. when they buy bulk ... they go for the best deal they can and manufactures want to earn business and drop product quality in most cases to be able to earn profit. Everyone wins .. except the end user ... not only do you have damage to contend with, but the price of all new rubber is usually on your shoulders as well.

Just another case of lowest bidder gets the job............Bean counters are looking to maximize profits in every way possible. As long as they get past warranty without expense their job is done.

It would be so easy to put on a tire that will not shred or separate. We have them on our cars and trucks...why not trailers? It is a shame that all trailer makers use the same shoddy tires.

Make sure you file a complaint https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/online.cfm
I think most people with tire blowouts neglect this step. The more complaints the government gets the more likely it will be to look into problems.

Guys, thanks for posting that web site link. Took me less than 10 minutes to file my claim. I agree, if we want anything to change we need to get someone on Keystone's back.

This morning I took care of this same potential problem on our new Mountaineer. It came with GY Marathon's which I now have for sale. I bought 4 new Sailun S637's 14 ply, 3750 lbs @ 110 psi. from Garl King @ Rusty's Tire in Pa. They cost $198 each shipped to your door. The wheels on our rig are 110 psi rated so this upgrade was a no brainer, not going to travel worrying about the tires coming unglued.

Same problem on my trip up to winnipeg. I was looking for a set of Sailun's but as luck would have it. That company is re badging their sidewalls to indicate ST rather than LT to avoid steep import fees. I also bought a set of the 14 ply Vanguards and immediately noticed how much better the 5er seemed to pull!
