Glissa,

Nice clean install. Do you have one or two 12 volt battery(s) in your coach? Also, how about showing a video of of the installation from the inverter to the power source and what is the distance between them?

I have 2 6 volts and one 12 volt starting battery for my generator. The wall the inverter is mounted on is shared with my batteries so my power leads are only maybe 1.5' at most. Check out the other video (Below) I did and you will see what I mean.

Glissa, Thanks for posting these. I don't think I really need the inverter but your post on the battery and charging system was a big help. I have never had so much problem keeping charged batteries in my camper. It is such a hassle. We camp with people who have RVs and they never seem to run out of power even when they are on battery power a lot. I know they have more batteries but still. They run stuff in the coach like it is nothing and without regard to how much power they are using. I didn't realize how different their system was from mine.

The other modification I really want to make is to have the batteries on a tray that slides in and out of the coach. Trying to man handle those very heavy batteries into and out of the tiny compartment is a complete pain in the butt.

Anyway thanks for sharing.

You might want to look into getting 6volt golf cart type batteries if you are looking for something that will enable you to "last longer" when not plugged into 110v. I've got two and, coupled with our solar panel, we can go several days without having to worry about our batteries running low.

We still have to be fairly prudent about how we use the batteries however. You still have to use common sense and not run everything whenever you want and as long as you want. We use only a small inverter (800w) from time to time when we need 110v which is not often.
