Anyone familiar with Crown Batteries?
I went to my supplier and he no longer carries Trojan but now carries Crown (CR235, similar to Trojan T105). Is anyone using them and or familiar with them? A comparison I red states they have the thickest plates in the business. Also what about Costco GC2 Interstate? About $40.00 less than Crown, don't know about the T105.

I've used Trojan's T105's both in our boat and in our RV with great success. I am not aware that Crown has now replaced Trojans but if they have I hope they continue to produce a quality battery equal to the Trojan. Personally, for $40 difference, I would still stick with a Trojan only because I know first hand that they make a fine battery.
I'll have to do some research to see if Trojan is still in business or has now become "Crown".

It seems as though Crown is a separate manufacturer than Trojan and from what I have read, does make a good battery. The company has been in business for over 75 years and makes batteries for all sorts of heavy duty applications but does make a deep-cycle RV and golf cart battery. Looks like a worthwhile brand to consider-- not cheap but most like most quality items --- you usually come out ahead in the long run.
Check out their website for products and specs on their RV batteries.

Sorry if it seemed I implied that Trojan was bought out or out of business. What I meant was the supplier no longer carried Trojan but now carries Crown. I am not familiar with Crown. Specs on the Cr235 are 20Hr Amp Hour = 235, 5Hr Amp hour = 190, RC Minutes = 125/75A. These numbers are slightly higher than T105's. Sorry if I misled anyone. I was hoping that someone was familiar with them other than what the company has on the internet.

No need to apologize and you didn't mislead at all. I was the one who jumped to that conclusion....... and should have realized that the supplier may have dropped the Trojan line.

Hi all I am very familiar with crown batteries. I run an all electrical industrial fleet of over 100 fork lifts etc. I use crown 6/V batteries in all my equipment. If they are properly charged watered and maintained they should last you years. This is an extension of Crown forklift manufacturing but are manufactured from what I am told by their supplier Enersy batteries

Thanks for the inputs! I bit the bullet and got two Crown CR235's. Darn core charge was high but I think these will do the trick.

Would you mind sharing with us what type (6v or 12v) of batteries you got and how much you paid for them?
If they are as good as all the reports indicate, come back to us in 5 or 6 years and say that they are still going strong.......

Sure! They are 6 volt, I posted the specs previously. Some additional info is they weigh 66lb. I paid $134.00 ea + tax. however, here's the kicker I did not have any core and the core charge from Crown is $27.00ea. So the good deal was not quite as good as I had hoped. I think I saw them on the internet for $189 and $133 but that did not include shipping or core. I will keep you up to date on their performance.
