Light Bulb Life

Can anyone suggest a reason why the three bulbs (12V) above the kitchen counter in a Cougar 326MKS keep burning out. I've replaced them with the same #1076 bulbs that were originally installed. All others in the rv are no problem and voltage checks out okay.
The lights seem overly bright when they're working. I would like to intall a dimmer in this circuit but haven't found one suitable for an rv.

We have a 2012 326 MKS and within 6 trips we burned out two of the lights. I think it is because of the vibration when the trailer travels down the road it is hard on the element inside. We replaced them with LEDs and have not had anymore problems. I am not sure if they are dimmable. Jay

The 1076 bulb is only rated for 200hrs. I have used the 1141 bulb, not as bright, but lasted for a long time. Tried LED not enough light and didn't care for the color. I'm now using the 1156DC (dual contact) bulb. More light than the original 1076 bulb. I'm a fulltimer so these lights are on allot through out the day. The 1156DC is not normally stocked in stores, but can be found on the internet.

There are also HD versions of these incandescent bulbs available. If you go to a real auto parts store (not Advance or AutoZone) and ask the person at the counter for the heavy duty fleet bulbs, they will likely have them.

You might check to see if the bulbs are indeed making good contact. I had mine go out, (that's what I thought) and come to find out that the bulb was just not making good contact. I had taken a piece of sand paper and rubbed the contacts on the bulbs and they were fine after that. Just a thought. Happy Camping, Sam

Questions answered and need a little more help.

I found the answer to part of my question here, as to why all three may go out. Now, Doe anyone know how to get to the light bulbs on the kitchen hanging island lights? All 3 went out, I just cannot figure out how to get to the actual bulb.
I have a 2013 Montana Highcountry, 343RLS.
