NOT Keystone , BUT Important

Howdy All;

Don't know if any of you have some of those Light Weight Propane
tanks. If you DO then this will be of interest to you or someone you may know. This was in the RV NewsLetter today.

There was a thread about 4 months ago regarding these cylinders. Several members commented that they were very interested in exchanging their steel cylinders for the "new and better model" Hopefully those members have read or will read your post and take heed.

Thank you for bringing it to the forum. Even though it's somewhat bad news, it's good to at least know.

It looks like the recall is due to sloppy conditions at the plant, not because of any cylinder failures. Slight sigh of relief.

PHMSA's site has a bit more info and says the manufacturer sent out instructions on how to discharge and purge the tanks. Just looked it up and it says to take to a qualified propane facility, even though the recall prohibits using the tanks to transport hazardous materials.

So…can an owner take it to a local propane center? That seems to be the best option.
