New Member from Northern West Virginia

Hey everyone! Checking in from Northern West Virginia just south of I70. My family and I have been camping for many years and have owned several campers. From a 1969 20' Layton to our current 2022 Cougar 364BHL. I have already read a lot of great threads before signing up, so I'm looking forward to keep learning from this forum!

They did a nice job converting Grand Vue. I used to golf there when I was younger, they really moved some dirt to have the area they have now. Come to think of it, I may have walked through the park on Sunday and saw you. I was with my wife, in-laws, and pushing our daughter on her bike. Small world! We're staying there Memorial Day weekend as a quick trip.

Wow, small world. Can't remember our site number but we were on the left side as you enter about 1/3 way down the first hill. I think I recall you guys walking by. Dirty gray Ford & dirty trailer from previous cg near Coopers Rock outside of Morgantown. Me, tall fat bearded old guy likely smocking a cigar.

The view from the back of our site was great. Nice cg. On Monday while at the dumpster I talked with the general manager of the park for about an hour. Very pleasant conversation and he was extremely interested in our experience and suggestions. For a new cg that only opened a couple of weeks ago I have to say they got it right. Was very impressed.

Did the touristy thing and took the prison tour, visited the mound, and of course Walmart.

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. They really are trying to make it nice there. They are currently underway on a complete rebuild of their pool on the other side of the park. If final product is anything like the teaser renditions, it will be very nice.

The GM told me all about the planned pool. They are truly making a destination with the adventer park. The cg is just past the Cafe. I asked the gm how the county could afford such a vast investment and he he said it was the nat gas/ oil leases. It's just a shame the state doesn't pony up and fix the roads. I told my DW that WV must have outlawed asphalt.

I can agree with you on the roads. Spent last week at Blackwater Falls S.P. in Davis, WV then up to Monaca, PA north of Pittsburgh. Bounced around quite a bit and never went more then 1/4 mile in a straight line. But, easy to see why John Denver called WV almost Heaven!
