Bedroom Tv mounting Cougar 24rds

Bought a small tilt only TV mount. Holds 44 pounds. Stud finder says there is backer board behind about 18 inches of wall. New question is how much room is between bedroom wall and bathroom wall? Trying to figure the max screw length. The wife is afraid I'm going to go through the bathroom wall. There is also a stud further toward the wall center. Surely it's at least an inch thick? Thanks for all of the help.

My recommendation is to drill a small hole where one of your tv mount holes will be and poke a wood skewer through the hole to measure how much room you have between the walls.

Do you not have a "backer board here" label on the wall?
The wall is about an inch thick - the backer board is certainly no more than 1/2" thick, so I would allow thickness for the mount plate plus 1/2" for the backer board - maybe 3/4" long. Drill a pilot hole and use lag bolts to mount with.

Barrell through with a lag bolt into the bath wall and tell her it's a "red neck towel hanger". Come on, be the man of the house!
Then
But seriously, consider if you have a backing for the television on one side you can put something on the other side. It may be a perfect spot for a towel when you get out of the shower or a wall fixture. Who knows?
Good luck
