Brakes
Hey everyone. I’m from Sparks Nevada. New to the forum and Keystone trailers.
I’ve got a 2015 Bullet and I recently replaced all 4 seals and adjusted my brakes and now my brakes won’t grab. I can feel a slight tug, but just don’t have brakes. Magnets are in great shape as well as brake pads. I’ve tried all different adjustments from the trailer brake in the cab also. Nothing helps. Anyone else have this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds to me like an adjustment issue. When you put the druns back on did you adjust the brakes and how?

I adjusted from the back adjustment screws. Then I’d tap the brake drums with a rubber mallet and would adjust until I barely heard brake contact then back it off a hair

To adjust the brakes:
Using a brake spoon or other appropriate tool, engage the star adjuster and pull DOWN. Spin the wheel after each “turn” and continue until you can’t turn the wheel any more. Then back off 3 clicks.
On both sides you need to turn the adjuster tool DOWN to tighten the brakes.

This didn’t help. Did exactly as you described and still no luck. When I do the trailer brake by hand the numbers climb from 0 to 9.9 in 5 seconds and the brakes don’t engage completely.
Thanks for the advice tho.

Pulled the emergency plug. Still no brakes. Checked all the connections and have power to where it should go.

Ok. Time to do some serious testing. If you have a DC amp clamp put it on the wire from the break away. Pull the pin, you should see 12-16 amps. If you don’t then it’s probably a wiring issue. If you do get the proper amount, then it’s back to pulling off the drums and inspecting them for ANY grease. With the drum off pull the pin and then put a metal object on the magnet. It should hold fairly strong.

I’ll try that next weekend and let you know the outcome. Had to call it quits and come home.
