I had a 2016 f250 and 2017 f 350. There is only 200 pounds difference in the weight of the two. Ford beefed up the frame when they added the aluminum body. I love my truck. The bed rails and bed are higher in the 2017 which makes it more of a problem leveling your truck and trailer when hook up.

Do your own math if you're interested.

3.5+ million trucks is quite a bit for a 2 year period. I like that trend though.

Those figures don't include Nissan and Toyota, so they're even higher. Definitely provides some job security for auto workers and signals an improving economy.... All "good things" IMHO.

Those numbers will grow considerably in the next few years as some manufacturers are dropping the majority of their car lines to only produce trucks & SUVs.

I had a 2005 GMC crew cab dually with the duramax and Allison transmission. I was in need of a new truck as I own a Keystone Impact 361 Toy Hauler and the GMC was having issues. Since I am not brand specific individual I checked out all manufacturers. The Ford was the most expensive followed by the Chevy/GMC. The Ram 3500 DRW was the best bang for the buck. When I looked at engine, transmission, fit, finish, and gadgets, again the Ram won. So I ended up purchasing a 2018 Ram 3500 Laramie Longhorn. I am not a Dodge guy and quite happy with the truck. All I can say is do your research like I did.

My grandmother and mother always tried to compare children to their parents. My daughter "had her mother's eyes and her father's nose". My son, although adopted, "looks just like you did at that age".... It's an "old southern tradition" to find a family resemblance (possibly to reassure folks outside the family in the days prior to DNA testing) LOL
I owned a 72 Dodge 3/4 ton PU. Every time I look at the new "RAM" trucks I see a "family resemblance" just like Mom and Grandma did.....
So yeah, once a Dodge, always a Dodge.....

Yes and yes...no problem at all with aluminum bed and the puck system is great. You can install after the fact but easiest if it is already there. I have a 2018 F350 Long bed DRW with 14,000 GVWR. Vertical weight in bed is 3,000 lbs. Door rating for max load is 5,800 lbs. Fully loaded with fuel, 2 people, etc puts the GVWR at 12,800 lbs. A SRW would have rating of 11,800 lbs and I would be 1,000 lbs over . My Montana 5r at 35 feet weighs in at 14,000 . Just came back from 7 month ... 18,000 mile trip. Didn’t even know the trailer was there. I don’t know how all those 38-42 foot 5r do with a SRW axle......guess there will be some big repair bills along the way.

I have a 2018 F350, SRW, long bed, 6.7 diesel. I have no issues nor have had any problems pulling a 40-foot Alpine. It rides level once rv is hooked up. I've owned Ram ,Chevy,GMC and FORDS. All trucks were good although had transmission failures on my RAM and GMC.. FORD has been good to me that I'm now on my 5th super duty. I trade in every few years only to upgrade.
