Radio shuts off

I recently purchased a 2014 keystone passport 238. It was used about 6 times. I brought it home...battery was hooked up. I checked out the lights, turned the radio, and when I turned master switch on the wall that controls the lights...the radio shut off. Anyone have any suggestions as to the issue. Something simple or do I have a more serious issue?

Welcome to the forum
First thing to check is the condition of the battery.

Ok...I'm also gonna get a conversion plug so I can plug it in and see what happens then.

We had an issue with our bedroom 12 volt TV turning off when the one light switch was turned on. I finally started checking connections and found one of the splices behind the wall switch was poorly made. I remade all the connections and never had another problem. I would check behind that switch that caused the radio to turn off.

If the "conversion plug" that you mentioned is the 30 amp to 15 amp conversion plug so you can connect shore power to the trailer, I'd guess that it hasn't been plugged in for a while and the battery in the trailer is likely discharged (or dead) and turning on the light is drawing the voltage down enough to cause the radio to "die".... As stated above, the first step would be check the battery power to see if it's good.

Make sure the battery did not freeze. If it did, you will need a new one!
