Slide toppers
Hi all, i am looking to put slide toppers on my new passport. I am looking for recommendations and opinions, pros /cons of the three that are in my budget.
Carefree standard
Dometic
Lippert solera
Just as a side note my main awning is a solera. Not sure if it makes a difference to keep a matching set on the unit.
Thanks

You'll get all kinds of opinions on this, but my personal preference in the order I'd buy: First is Carefree, second would be Dometic and last would be Solara.
Lippert owns Solara, they might have improved significantly in the past couple of years, but once a reputation is established, it's difficult to change it....

When I purchased my Bullet last year, I had 2 slide toppers installed at the time of my walk through. I posed the same questions as an afterthought. Overall, the consensus was positive. Here's the tread: Slide Toppers

Just installed a pair of Dometic slide toppers, not at all hard just lots of holes to drill and screw. 6' and 13' slides.

We install Dometic toppers all the time. It's our (techs) preference. Just make sure to get the TALL bracket kits. Keeps the fabric off the top flange.

Over the years, this old man has developed a list of stuff I have to have on an RV... included right at the top is slide toppers, followed closely by auto leveling and hardwired EMS...

Last year I installed a Solera Topper and it worked out well. The topper did Not hold water and worked well. When we traded that unit in for the Laredo, we had the dealer install toppers on the 3 slides. They installed "Care Free" toppers. All three hold water when it rains, Lots of water, the material looks very thin and tends to wrinkle when the slides are retracted. Wish I could wave a magic wand and have Solera toppers.
