Heater rattling

I have a 2013 sprinter 323bhs that we are living in currently till our house gets built, ugh... Anyway when I turn the heater on it makes a loud rattling/vibrating noise.. Iv taken the cover off under the fridge and looked around, taken cover off but I cant see anything. Now iv shoved a flat head screw driver under the frame of the heater and it diminished a little but not alot. It almost sounds like the fan is out of balance or a blade is broken. Thats the best way I can describe it. You just can sleep through the night when that thing kicks on. How in the world do I gain access to the fan or anyone ever experienced this issue before? Thanks as were living off of little space heater right now and I just dont trust them completely.

The heater fan is at the back of the unit. The unit itself is encased in that metal box. If yours has just the two round holes on the outside wall, then the unit will pull out of the case from the inside of the trailer. Once you turn off the propane and disconnect the line, there should be a single screw behind the front plate. Remove it and the whole heater should slide out. You may or may not have to cut wires, on most I've serviced the wires are long enough to get the unit out.

If your outside wall has the rectangular plate, then the heater comes out from there. Same rules-turn off the propane and disconnect.

Take your time, and make sure when you put it back together that the two exhaust holes are lined up.

Awesome! Thanks for you help. If its halfway decent tomorrow Im going to try and tackle it. So I should be able to take out the 2 screws attaching it to the floor twards the inside of the camper and it should slide out to me?

There is probably 2 screws through the case into the floor at the corners. They hold the whole assembly to the floor. Of you look at the center, there is probably a small screw that holds the inner assembly to the outer case. Taking out the center screw should allow the "guts" to slide out.
