Been getting our 2005 Eddie Bauer Expedition ready for towing a 280BH Passport Ultra Lite. The Expy has the 5.4L with 3.73 gears and the Ford standard towing package. With the addition of a Hayden 405 transmission cooler; a Reese Towpower 74642 brake controller; and up-fitted 7-blade trailer connector and harness it shouldn't have any problem handling the job. Total weight for the trailer is under 6k. Just gotta see how the 119" wheelbase handles a 28' trailer...

Here's a photo of our 2014 Tundra with our 2013 Bullet as we made our way home yesterday from the Dallas area to South Texas. The DW needed some "soul food"!

Here is ours, just picked up the TT last weekend in Indiana and drove it back to Colorado Springs, Co.

TV: 2002 Chevy Suburban 2500 with the 8.1L! Gets 4-6 MPG when towing the TT... but it'll pull it just fine, easily did 75-80 MPH in Kansas and Colorado, not as much on the hills, 60-65 mph.

NOT my first time towing... I've been towing for many moons including a fair amount of double trailers. The sway hitch made this so stable it didn't even feel like there was a trailer on it (except for the weight). Even when passing semi's you could barely tell, more stable than my 7x16 cargo trailer that I pull fairly often. I was very impressed with the hitch.

And your OEM TT tires are rated for how many MPH? Regardless of how "many moons" you have been towing, towing a TT continuously at that speed is, IMO, unsafe and excessive - no matter what type of hitch you have.
