I miss my ol Avy! Thing was nasty after installing a Blackbear tune and dual exhaust! I used it to haul around a 33FT Coachman TT but decided to go fifth wheel instead. Funny thing is, our new truck gets about the same MPG. I surely miss that awesome BB sound!!

I stared at your pic... and stared at it... and kept thinking to myself, "That's not an Avalanche, that's a Hideout. Avalanche doesn't make any travel trailers. Only 5th wheels...."

Then I realized you where talking about the tow vehicle... Duh... Eye=Dumb.

Is it just me, or are Ford one tons lower (ride height) than Dodge or Chev/GMC? I love the stance of the Ford 350/450's.

It's lower. Approx 3 in shorter at the rear bumper than the '09 F350 SRW we replaced. This is our first dually, and I already like it. The lower height is nice for pulling the camper. With the old truck, the trailer was high in the nose and there were times we had clearance issues between the box and trailer.

Ya, after I posted that I realized I probably should have put that my TT is a Bullet 272BHS. We were at Garner State Park (in Texas) and the park rangers were going around screaming "take cover"!

picked up our 298RE in early May this year. The truck with e2 WDH handled it fine.

I`m really happy how the 1500 pulls the TT. I`m going to add the factory camper mirrors as soon as the dealer calls and says they`re in. Just got my truck in Dec and almost asked you how yours towed. Seen you on a few posts.

I bought aftermarket mirrors. They pull out manually and don't have the blinkers hooked up in them but they work well. Have fun.
