leaking roof

2 nd weekend with the Alpine 3500RE 2010
The inside ceiling is leaking drip by drip when it rains. It is below the roof top ac at the back in the middle.
Did a liquid roof last summer, but this AC sits above the outdoor roof and from the inside there is no access directly under it.
I am thinking the only area that did no get the liquid roof is under the ac.
Is there a way to apply liquid roof in a space of 1/4 inch between the roof and Dometic ac unit? I have no doubt this area is dirty and that the liquid roof may not stick properly
How do you remove the AC unit on the roof to clean up and apply the liquid roof?
Any ideas if the it could be leaking somewhere else?

If the roof AC unit isn’t held in place by 4 screws located behind the ceiling assembly, then it’s held in place with 4 lags from the top. You’ll have to remove the cover to access them.

If I remember correctly the torque is 40 Inch/pounds.

Sounds like it’s a whisper air unit. As Chuck mentioned, 4 lags. There should be a foam seal between the roof and the AC base. It could be as simple as the AC is not tight and the seal is not being compressed. I’ve seen that happen before. The seal could also just be work out. I don’t know if the liquid room would be able to seal the space between the roof and the AC. The foam gasket works well if installed correctly. I’d probably just make sure of that and replace if needed.

leaking roof

Thanks makes sense. The unit is a dometic and there is no foam seal with the rooftop so may it is the power connection that is no longer sealed properly

ALL Dometic roof air conditioners sit atop a 14x14" hole in the roof. They ALL have a seal that goes on top the roof and under the air conditioner. ALL Dometic air conditions have four long screws going through from the roof top unit and through the inside-the-coach unit that have nuts on the. If you don't have a seal, that is the cause of your leak. You probably have one and have to take the screws out, get on top and move the A/C and reseat or replace the seal... better a new one.

George: ALL roof units will have the foam seal that is usually attached to the AC unit. There is at least 2 different ways to mount the unit. the 4 long screws that go through the ceiling plate and into nutserts. The other way is to use long lag bolts that go through the base plate into the framing of the roof. Tiffin uses the lags on higher end coaches. I am currently working on a 2019 Montana HC with the lags that hold it.
