Found a leak when dumping black and gray water. Leak coming from slits in corrugated plastic by those valve stems. Have tightened valve stems lately so they don’t unscrew and fall off. No idea if liquid is fresh, gray, or black. Troubleshooting thoughts? On the road again today. Thanks.

I imagine there was 1 quart of liquid.

Is this the first time using the trailer or the first time you're seeing this? Did you use the black tank flush? If you did, it could be the vacuum break valve leaking. Check the inside the cabinet in the bathroom for signs of water.
I would think if it's black or gray water you would be smelling a quart of it from a distance. To check for freshwater leaks turn on the fresh water pump with water in the FW tank. If the pump continues to run when the air in the waterlines is bled out then you have a leak. Once the pump pressurized the system the pump should s shut off and remain off until a faucet or valve is opened like flushing the toilet.

Been using it for 4 months. Haven’t used flush. Will try your idea later today. Thanks.

I think things are OK with the pressurized water system. In the night, heard pump run for a half second maybe 3 times which I’m guessing is normal. Checked under the shower drain and under sinks and found no sign of wetness. We are in one spot for a couple of days now so I will look at the camper belly for any possible bulging.

The pump running in the night is a red flag for a fresh water leak. I had an issue this spring (in our third season) with the pump running off and on in the night. It coincided with water leaking from the coroplast belly. I finally tracked it down to a slowly leaking fitting on the back side of the shower faucet.

Thanks…that may be my issue. I probably need to get some chloroplast removal and installation skills. Did you remove sections of your chloroplast?

Nope, NOT NORMAL if the system has been purged of air properly. As old as our trailer is I can pressurize the system with the FW pump, turn it off and still have full pressure weeks or months later. You have a water leak somewhere.

I found a major leak with a loose connection at the water pump near the front of the camper and corrected that problem. Could water from that leak made it all of the way to the back of the camper where I saw it leaking from the coroplast at? I’m not finding any leak issues near the rear.

Was the water from the pump able to travel through the floor and into the underbelly? If so, yes, if it was a "major leak" as you describe depending on the angle of the trailer when hitched or traveling it's very possible for the water to come through the floor and travel back on the coroplast.

I think probably so. It really leaked when I filled the fresh water tank. A lot went on the ground outside. Some could easily go down the hole onto the coroplast if the camper was sloping the other way.

I had a trailer that took in water at the front above the coroplast and since it traveled a bit nose high, and the scarcity of screws holding the coroplast, it leaked out behind the axles toward the rear of the trailer. You might remove 2 or 3 of the fasteners where it's leaking and see if you can get it to dump out. I ended up removing 8 or 10, propping the coroplast down and running a 20" box fan into the cavity to help it dry.

Pump at nihht

Since tightening at the water pump, have you left the pump on overnight and is it still pressurizing a few times overnight?

Mine does that and I am certain I have no leaks. I just figured the diaphragm in the pump isn’t awesome and let’s pressure release.

I leave the pump on and I am hearing almost no running at night. I don’t know for sure because I am generally sleeping pretty soundly. To be thorough, I may take off the shower fixture and make sure those connections look good.

I think your diaphragm idea may have merit.

How have you made certain that you have no leaks? Are you certain that all the air is purged from the system? If the diaphragm n the pump is leaking back it's got a problem as it shouldn't leak back in the matter of a few hours. That's not normal. I can turn my pump off and come back in week and it's still pressurized.

Most of my water pipes are exposed in my storage compartment. A few travel through the “basement” but with only one T under there (for each hot/cold) I haven’t seen anything dripping down my low point drains.

My water pump is easily accessed, I guess I could pressurize them system without the pump connected and see what happens.

Never had water come out the basement but I guess small drips might just evaporate.

Should mention I guess, I have a Fuzion FZ301.

Small drips can easily saturate the luan (which acts like a sponge) and just hold the water, keep swelling and delaminating until the floor buckles and your foot falls through to the basement....

There's no such thing as a "small drip that evaporates" in an RV. Any water that persists for any length of time is detrimental to the longivity of a travel trailer.....

I’m having a hard time getting my one fitting at the water pump to stop leaking. It’s stops…and then it starts again. Can I take it apart and put together again using pipe dope? If so, what kind can I use? It is a hand tightened fitting. Thanks.

If the fitting screws on, there is a swivel seal, I call them cone washers that are easy to replace and can cause your issue. I would replace it, just don’t over tighten the fitting.
