Blocking A/C Vent

My rear a/c duct extends at least 2 feet beyond the farthest vent and I guess deadends into the backwall above my cabinets. I think that it would be better to end the duct run at the farthest vent so that the cold air does not have to run to the back of the duct. What has anyone used to block the duct off with?

A common method is to cut a pool noodle to length and fill the void. Then use foil HVAC tape to seal it off.

I used pool noodles and they work great.

I had some left over foam so I cut it just too big and wedged it in.

Pool noodles are your friend. They are very useful for all sorts of RV stuff. We have some cut to fit the sharp corners on the slides that my head can't smooth out(OUCH!). My wife has them cut to fit the microwave interior to protect the glass dish and cut to fit the dinning chairs when travelling. I've also seen them used for noodle HEAD protection on low awning arms. Oh and I used them to block off my a/c ducts too. And you could probably use them for swimming if you wanted.

If your like me, the problem with pool noodles for swimming are the people laughing when I have 10 of them under each arm to hold me up.

I found some packing insulation that I was able to roll up and wedge into the duct, then tape it over with outdoor duct tape. Got a BIG increase in airflow from the end vent now. Thanks!
