Waxing an RV

What are the best waxes that you guys use or recommend to keep your FWs looking good. I have looked at lots of them I just am wondering what you guys are using and what successes you are having.

I still use Turtle Wax, hand applied, just like Mr Miagi. (Wax on, wax off) Mainly I believe you should put a coat of wax on your RV, don't fret about having 'the latest and greatest' just do it. By the way, I just happened to put Nu Finish on our last truck, and it did look superb.

Just do it...

I agree with Jim. I had a good supply of liquid turtle wax and have almost used it all. I will then use nu finish because that’s what the kids gave me.
I never do the whole trailer or truck at once, but just do sections when they are in the shade and I am waiting for the smoker or just bored. Some times it takes a few camping trips to get around the trailer. I can usually get two coats on in a season.
But the best is the guys in Yuma that do my trailer including the roof with a wash and hand wax for $125. Two guys, three hours, great job.

Ceramic coated our fifth wheel trail. The link below highlights the benefits:

An easy "wipe on/wipe off" is Klasse. Autogeek or Amazon Prime.
I did the truck this morning. Really need to do the 5th. So far all I have used on it is that yellow snotty Meguiars wash and wax.

Nu Finish needs 2 coats. I do however suggest getting a marine wax. Something they use on boats. All this car wax does a good job on cars but you have to keep doing it all the time.

^^3M Marine Ultra Performance would be a good.
A lot depends on several issues...
We are assuming conventional filon, not full body paint??
Is it stored indoors or out. Shade or full sun?
Where is Camden?
Protecting a RV in south Texas is different than Minnesota.
How is your energy level for this? Up and down a step ladder swinging a heavy random orbit polisher two or three times a year?

I am in South Carolina so hot humid and sunny for a long summer. I don't mind the labor, i work on all my stuff anyway, but I would like something I can do once or twice a year. I get up on the roof twice a year to clean and seal so I could do it around the same time.

I suspected SC. We've been all around there.
I would just say stay on top of it. If the oxidation gets bad you may try 3M Marine Restorer and Wax and a random orbit buffer. I tried to do it spring and fall.

I have been using Wash Wax All for the last 5 years. I do my 38' Fifth Wheel twice a year and it looks like new. All of the paint, decals, everything is perfect. And I can do the whole trailer in about an hour with the extendable arm that they sell for applying the wax.

I used turtle wax the first couple of times I waxed my 327RES to get a good base. After that I have been using Meguiars spray wax. I wash with the Meguiars Ultimate wash wax(the yellow thick stuff) almost every month while camping. I still use turtle wax on the front cap a few times a summer because it gets a beating going down the road. Its as 2016 and I get compliments all the time on how shiny it still is. It takes some time but I am fortunate to have a place I can pull the FW into and do the wax in the shade usually over a weekend before we start the season.

I heard not to use a wax because it will dry out the vinyl decals....

Meguiars makes some really nice wax, the same as detailers use. When I first got my RV I used real car wax, but after a whole day wiping it on and then wiping it off I said never again. Love the Meguiars. Spray on and wipe off.

I use only Groit's, https://www.griotsgarage.com/, on my vehicles. I have used everything else and it simply outperforms the rest. I would recommend using their Poly-Wax for trailers as its long lasting.

Use past Turtle Wax last 8 years, do a small part each day until completely waxed, Armor All on all rubber and seals. Too old to do it all at once, arm falls back in my face when polishing so a little at a time gets the job done.

F11 topcoat spray wipe and dry. It’s more of a ceramic coating. Expensive but only needed once a year

It also makes use of a non-abrasive formula designed to clean, protect, and polish your RV using just a single, uncomplicated step. I am greatly impressed with its ability to deliver long-lasting protection from corrosion, salt air, and the V rays of the sun.
