Broken suspension just noticed

Was doing a couple of maintenance items on our 09 Cougar 320SRX and noticed that the two plates that hold the leaf spring to the equalizer broke and the leaf spring was up against the frame.

Looked on etrailer for replacement parts but not sure what to buy.

Certainly the flat bar pieces were obviously under built.

I'd suggest a Morryde Wet bolt kit and either a new equalizer or a CRE3000

The CRE3000 will improve the ride a bunch..

They're called "shackles", contact MorRyde & order their heavy shackles with wet bolts kit, kit comes with 1/2" thick shackles, new bolts & bronze bushings. Measure the old shackles from center of bolt to center of bolt to find the proper size. It's an upgrade well worth the $$.

If you posted pics of the pieces that are broken, might help the smart folks on the site give more specific responses. I am pretty sure that you can upgrade using wet bolts and a wet equalizer. This means you can actually lube them as they have zirc fittings installed. There are bunches of videos on youtube show the install of these bits. This might be the sort of thing you are looking for and also replace the bolts (wet bolts) that go through the shackles with new bushings.

Wasn't suggesting you use the above system but you can sink as much money into suspension as you like and the more money the better the equipment. Morryde is towards the top of the price scale but I think it comes standard on top of the line RVs as well.

X3!

Heavy duty shackles and wet bolts for sure! The CRE 3000 is optional.

Been watching a youtuber keep your daydream he boxed his shackles to keep that from happening. Looks to me that would strengthen them a bunch. Im going to try it on mine.

I believe he is talking about shackles, not the tabs welded to the frame that support one end of the spring packs. These are the shackles I'm sure is being discussed. The second photo is the tabs welded to the frame.

That’s not good

Wasn’t the trailer leaning severely to one side? Yes upgrade to wet bolts and heavy-duty shackles.
