Lug nut size
We have a 2017 Cougar 337 FLS and the owner's manual says the lug nuts are 7/8" or 13/16" but they aren't. Anyone know what they are? And yes I've tried other sockets to no avail. Are there caps covering the "real" nuts?

This may seem a bit obvious, but simply use a caliper to measure the lug nut. If the two sizes you tried are too big, try a 3/4" socket. On our rig, our lug nuts have the covers and are 7/8". I would also recommend only using 6 point sockets, as these will not distort the metal caps. I only use 6 point deep impact sockets.

A buddy with a Cougar had 2 different nut sizes on his trailer. Needless to say he was not happy when he found this out and his dealer wasn't much help. It seems they just throw on whatever they can scrape up off the factory floor sometimes.

Most steel wheels and a few aluminum wheels use plastic lug covers that need to be removed before putting a socket on the lug nut. Some (I'd guess about half) of the aluminum wheels have chrome plated lug nuts that don't use caps.
Mine are 13/16, without plastic caps and chrome plated. I keep a 4" extension and a deepwell socket stored with the torque wrench in the trailer all the time. Our Springdale had black plastic lug caps, the lugs were 3/4" and open on the end. With the plastic caps on them, nothing would fit them.
There is a tool to remove the plastic caps, you can see a picture of it here : http://www.adventurerv.net/universal...source=Froogle, but anything that you can catch the back side will allow you to pull the cap off the lug. Don't try to remove the lugs with plastic caps installed, even if you do find something that fits, it will destroy the cap from the twisting pressure.

Best investment I made, about 30 years ago, was a 4 way lug wrench, and a 2 foot +/- iron pipe to use as a leverage extender to break loose, and sock down lug nuts.
To take it to the next level, I used a piece of color coded electrical tape for each applicable spoke of the wrench (Blue for my Blue Trimmed trailer, Black for my Black truck, White for my wife's White Explorer) Real quick and handy in a pinch. With a little practice, you can spin the wrench to tighten or loosen nuts that are hand tight, and sock them down from there.
Good Luck,

Without using a torque wrench you can under or overtorque the lug nuts.

^^ I know who did that.
It's that same guy that switches the labels on the black and gray tank dump valves. Some day he is going to be sitting on his porch drawing his SS check and still be laughing.
All the above is true with lug nuts. Just please for safety's sake use impact 6 point sockets if you're using an impact. I know, a lot of people use chrome sockets, but it ain't right, and we all try to be right, right? And a $20 Harbor Freight torque wrench is better than no torque wrench.

My Alpine came with 13/16. I purchased new wheels from Sendel and they came with new lug nuts which are 19mm.

"they came with new lug nuts which are 19mm" I believe they are in all actuality 3/4 inch. Slide one in a six sided socket and see if that isn't what you find.

19mm x .03937 = 0.74803
3/4" = 0.750
Either way works...

Yep. Use a 6-point socket, preferably a black, deep impact socket.
19mm=.748"
3/4"=.750"
Edit: Just saw Javi's post.

The 19mm fits a little better than the 3/4
