Sani flush

We have a newer Hideout trailer with the saniflush on the exterior. The campground sanidumps we've been at so far only have the rinse hose with a cut end instead of the threads so we're not able to use the saniflush. Same with our storage site. We bought a camco product that is supposed to be used for faucets where the threads are broke or no threads. It is rubber on one end and threaded on the other. We tried it once and it wouldn't stay on. Any ideas? So far, we've just waited until it was 3/4 then dumped. No saniflush. It says you have to use the saniflush with the black water valve open so we would need to be at a sanidump. Is it important to use the saniflush each time you dump? Thanks

You don't have to have the valve open while using the rinser, the warning is there so you don't close the valve, start the rinser and forget about it. When the rinser is running your adding water to the tank and if the valve is left closed, it will overfill and the excess WILL exit somewhere. Maybe it will blow the toilet seal a geyser in the bathroom, or maybe travel up the vent pipe and create a poonami on the roof.
Attach a clear connection to the trailer and the sewer hose to it. Start the rinser and open the valve. Once the liquid has slowed, shut the valve. Set a timer for 3 minutes and when it goes off open the valve. Repeat until water is clean and clear.

You should do a good clean when done using the trailer. If your site has full hookups I would do my dumping/rinsing there. If not then you'll need to rig up a collar that you can put over the hose at the dump station and maybe a hose clamp or two would hold it on.

I have a separate garden hose for the black tank rinse. Only use it for that. Your tank will be cleaner and sensors work better if you flush frequently. Some do it every time, others do not. Your call.

Or buy a green garden hose 25Ft and carry it with you... unscrew the cutoff hose from the hose bib at the dump station... and screw your dedicated hose onto the bib...

BTW... if the dump station is crowded... you will not be very popular if you rinse the tank... Dump and go.. For those occasions I just pull up to the curb at the house and use the sewer cleanout at the house as a dump port and use my garden hose to flush the tank...

Thanks chuckster57, brought back some memories not exactly a "create a poonami on the roof" but did pour some dawn down the toilet then ran the black tank flush Thought it was regular strength but later found it was something like 24x

While flushing noticed all kind of bubbles coming down off the roof . First thought was to look around and see if anyone was watching. Looked like a carnival, Ya now I read the label.

I second the advice from Chickster. That's how we do it and no black tank issues for 7 years.
As for the "Water Thief", if it comes off while filling your tanks (we use it when we need to to fill the fresh tank too) you only need to have someone stand by and hold it in place. If there is much backpressure at all it will slip off.
A very experienced camper once told me about cleaning the black tank. Think of it like the toilet bowl itself. Keep rinsing until it's clean. The more water the better.
Also, it's a good idea to travel with a couple gallons of water in the tank after rinsing. It sloshes around and helps move any solids and paper that may have missed the rinse cycle.

I have a 12 volt macerator pump and if I am unable to rinse at the dump station, I just do it a home.

I use my clear elbow and wait for fairly clear water coming out.

Lat time I used it, I saw some things that looked like note paper go by... no problem for the pump, did not even change pitch. No idea how that got in there

Probably a good idea to use a water pressure regulator on the black tank flush hose to protect the plastic parts in the system. I know a park that has 100psi water pressure.

I actually have two regulators, one for the potable white hose and one for the black tank flush green garden hose.
