Scaled Weights

So here are the scaled weights
Truck Loaded no TT
STEER=3380. Front GAWR=3600
DRIVE=2620. Rear GAWR=3800
Gross=6000. GVWR=7050

Truck with TT NO WD
Steer=3000
Drive=3860
Gross=15340

Truck with TT and WD
Steer=3200
Drive=3620
Gross=15380

The GCWR for TV is 17,200.

I would appreciate any comments /opinions on the weights. I use an equalizer WDH. TT was a smig nose low. Towed very well with approx 15-20 mph crosswind doing 60-65 mph. No sway but a bit of movement with a gust of wind. Nothing concerning though.
Cheers

Looks like you should be adjusting your WD to get another 180 lbs onto the steer axle. You will find that the TV will handle better with the TT.

Here you go, I plugged your numbers into my weight calculations spreadsheet.

You didn't post your trailer GVWR so I guessed based on 4k pound axles + tongue weight, and put down 9000#. It says you're over on trailer weight but if you give me your specific trailer GVWR I can plug it in.

As for the numbers; I agree with the others you're pretty light on weight distribution, but instead of adjusting the WD bars, it appears you're loading the trailer too light in the front? Even without WD hooked up you're only at 9.2% tongue weight. Must be loading the TT rear heavy?

Wow that is a serious spread sheet....GVWR of TT is 10,995. Correct me where I go wrong. TV - gross with TT = TT weight? 9380lbs? TW= Drive (no WD) - drive(tv only) 3860-2620=1240 13.2% . Am I not seeing this right? Thanks for the assistance.

Attached are the updated calculations with the TT GVWR.

To answer your questions;

Total trailer weight is simply calculated using the difference in total gross weight between the TV (no trailer), and the combined gross weight with the trailer scale tickets (for both with and without WD.)

Tongue weight is calculated using the total gross weight of the TV (no trailer) and subtracting that from the sum of the Steer and Drive axle weights of the trailer scale tickets (for both with and without WD.) So in your case, the steer and drive axles of your TV are 860# heavier with the trailer hooked up, then without. So the tongue weight incurred is 860#, which is roughly 9.2% of the trailer weight.

That's good stuff. Thank you. So, I need to pack some more gear to the front of the TT and maybe add a washer to the hitch for a bit more weight to the steer axle. We are leaving for Disney in early April, so I want this dialed in the best I can before the long haul. The help is much appreciated. Cheers.

Easiest way I have found when hooking up and adjusting your WD hitch is to measure the front fender on your TV at the top of the flare before you actually put any weight on the ball. Try to get that same height within 1/2" after you're hooked up.
