Dang I am so ready to be camping!

I was able to stay in my camper 4 nights this summer(right at a 4 month period), a couple times while on the road to Oklahoma(once boondocking) and then 9 weeks later a couple on the return trip.
BUT that was not camping but I was staying the night on two long road trips.
I am so ready to stay and just camp somewhere.
So mid-September we are going somewhere for 5 days to chill and relax.
Drink some coffee in the mornings, have a nice fire, cook some breakfast outside, eat some good food and have some great company too.
IS anybody else ready for some fall camping?
This is my favorite time of the year to camp. Cooler days, cool nights, a cracklin' campfire. I love getting up to a cool morning with a light dew and a nip in the air. Drink me some good ole' java.. wait on mama to get up and then cook some bacon/sausage and eggs. Boy I can't wait!
thanks for the vent,
randy

I LOVE FALL CAMPING! The only thing that is bad it is fallowed by winter and snow and the campground is closed. It stinks to not be retired so I can go south.

I'm "camping" at the GSR RV park in Reno this weekend for the the Big Reno Gun Show. Too hot to camp without 50A power, so its an opportunity with other opportunities.

I'm ready as well! We did two 5 and 8 night trips early this summer. We then took the camper to the dealer for service and were busy moving from CO to NC. We're heading back to CO early next month to get the camper and spend 14 nights at a local state park, then hitting the road back to NC. Bring on the camp fires and fun!

We are heading out again this weekend, have not been home for a weekend since July 8. I love fall camping as well, it is the best but unfortunately marks the end of the season. We are booked until mid Oct and will be out every weekend with a week in Sept.

BY the way be safe going out and coming back with Camper. If you come back I-40 east you will go thru my county and around 14 miles from my house on the highway. If you come that way during working hours I work right off the highway. like 1 mile.
BirchBoy you will love NC fall camping. We have the mountains and foothills, then central NC with all the lakes and state parks CG's.
then you have all the beach campgrounds and neat places to visit while camping. Fall weather will be cooler and so much less humid.
Some of the NC private campgrounds are very proud of their beach front campgrounds so be aware of that fact.
We are leaning towards Boone,NC & Tweetsie RR with G-kids for this upcoming trip, then we will camp 6 days for Halloween at a YogiBear campground that will not be that far from Wilmington. Maybe an hour or so???
Then Thanksgiving we will be at Myrtle Beach, SC for like 10 days.
SO its going to be great!

Most of the month of September on the Oregon coast for us. We will leave the day after Labor Day and come home sometime before elk season starts October 1.

Spending the weekend preparing for tailgating, College Football kickoff beginning in two weeks. We start the season with 5 straight weeks of home games. Best time of the year!

Randy, I wasn't going to rub this in, but after reading all the other posts I just couldn't help myself. DW and I leave the 29th for ten days in Fairplay, Colorado, then on to southern California, Yosemite, Redwoods, San Francisco, Route 97 (High desert highway) on to Banff for a few days. Back to Glacier, Yellowstone, northern Wisconsin and then home for a month. Yes, the Harley will be in the garage, available at every stop. And if any of the RV parks along the way have a "no campfire rule" then we're moving on! Yes, retirement IS what it is cracked up to be.....

Yes retirement is all it's cracked up to be!
We haven't been anywhere since the Indy500/Smokey Mtns trip. The 5th has been in the shop a few weeks for cabinet damage and an exhaust fan replacement. Not a problem for me as I really don't want to camp locally in this heat or drive for 3 days to get away from it.
Wife doesn't want to go anywhere anyway...first grandbaby is due about now, and she wants to be near to help.
I'm thinking about maybe a fishing trip in late September or October to Broken Bow Oklahoma and the Ozarks. May be just me in the cabover. We have tickets to USAC races at Eldora in late September. Could combine that with fishing. We'll see how this first grandbaby affects things.

WoW!!! Y'all are getting ready to quit! We leave for Chattanooga next week, the Gatlinburg, will be spending Jan/Feb in FL with a trip or 2 between. Then maybe Ga or La and??? Will close her down when school lets out next summer and the CGs get crowded. Y'all are missing the best times to go.

Murphsmom - Oregon in September, now that is wonderful camping!

We have 2 1/2 months till we take off for our usual 5 month winter camp. We will stay in one Park for all 5 months. When it gets near time to snow in Colorado's mountains, we head south. Meanwhile, I have lots of projects to do on the 5er.

Got the 5th out of the shop today.
The grandson appears to have red hair and blue eyes. No DNA test required, he is one of us.
I'm scheming up a trout fishing trip to Beavers Bend OK., and maybe Norfork Arkansas. Might just be me in the cabover.
But dang, the weather is about to cool here at home and the bay will be full of specs. ARGH!!

I finally decided all my customers can wait, and we are scheduling a trip for the weekend of Sept 9. Maybe only 30 minutes away, and 2 nights but it's enough to feel refreshed!!

We were camping in May last time. June thru last week every day off my paid job. I worked on the house, I put in new electric meter, mask, panel, some wires, new siding on 1 side, 1 window and painted the whole thing. Now mid sept. 3 days at a campground, finally. Maybe some time in Oct also.

Congrats on the "real" grandson.

Next trip for us will be the Reno Air Races next month.

We're taking 5 nights at the Lake of the Ozarks with my son's family. We're (DW and I) camping with the dogs and my son's family is staying at my mom's condo. We both win! It'll be crazy but I love to get the boat out! Will probably do one more trip after that in October to southern MO when the leaves start changing. Cabin fever is killing me right now....'

Congratulations to those of you camping and retired.
We are not camping but have worked a free weekend getaway into our schedule soon, very soon. And then we will roll the 5er out for our upcoming trip then fall camping each month for some great days.
Plus we planned a weekend get away to my daughter's college night football game. I need to support that university football team, Wait I am supporting them with my Ca$h.
But that will be a go up Saturday am and return Sunday pm trip and sleep on the floor. Wait I will sleep in her queen bed and she can sleep on the floor of her house. We are paying those bills????
ENJOY camping those that are and can before me. BUT my day is coming.
These past few days in central NC have been nice temps and no humidity, a little crisp each morning has me excited for fall camping.
