New Tow Vehicle
After spending countless hours on the forum reading hundreds of threads and responses I came to the conclusion that my 2010 Ram 1500 SLT Quad Cab was just not going to be a good match for our new RV (Cougar 29RBK). Towing our previous RV a Coachman 24TBQ the truck always seemed to squat more than I liked even with a Reese Dual Cam WD hitch. So while the wife was away this past weekend I upgraded to a 2012 Ram 2500 Crew Cab Laramie gasser. Now just long wait for the snow to melt to hook up the RV to the new TV for the first time!

Are you going to tell us what happened when your wife came home? Will you be camping alone or ...?
Oh yes, welcome to the forum and for what it's worth, I think you made the right decision.

Festus,
Her only request was to be picked up from the airport in the new truck! She knew I had been in the market for a 3/4 ton truck for a while! I can't imagine not finding this forum and trusting the RV dealer saying your truck is fine to tow that!!

I have found the truck has rails in the bed for a 5th wheel, with having a tow behind what would everyone do, leave them in or take them out? Kinda thinking of leaving them in because of the holes in the bed from the bolts

If you're not going to use the rails to mount a hitch, I'd go ahead and take them out. As you start using your truck bed for cargo, you'll grow to hate those rails more and more with every 2x6 that hangs up while sliding in and with every trash bag that gets torn spilling trash into the bed with every trip to the dump, not to mention trying to sweep leaves, dirt or mulch out of the bed after hauling a load for your neighbor....
As for the holes, there are plastic caps available at NAPA and other auto parts stores to hammer into the holes and you'll never even notice them after a couple of weeks.
