Broken table in 2020 Cougar 24RDS

While traveling home from our recent trip out table in the dining area tore out of the plastic (yes plastic) brackets fastened to the floor. The screws were left behind! FYI we did not go on any unpaved roads and never went over 62-63 miles an hour. The table always was wobbly...and we never realized the brackets were plastic
Now since it's usually just the two of us, we are looking for suggestions on how to either fix the table more securely or since we would still like to have a table to use while we eat, any suggestions on how or what to replace it with.
Hope this is in correct thread. And, thank you for any help.

You can replace the floor sockets with aluminum ones. Those table sockets and tubes have been used on boats and RV for many decades. If you google "rv table base" you'll get a plethora of options.

Think about the "weakest link" before you start reinforcing your slide floor and the table base....

The plastic table base plate is "intended to break before the floor splits"... What that means is the "intended weakest link" is the cheaper of two components and the easier to repair of the two components.

If you install an aluminum table mount, should the "same thing happen" you may wind up ripping the screws out of your slide floor, damaging it "irrepairably".... While it may never happen again, it's "more convenient" to replace the plastic table base plate than it is to replace the slide floor....

It may be "more reliable" to just remove the table from the base plate so it won't put the torque on the plastic and not break again....

Is your table a stand alone table with 4 screws going through the feet of the table (like a center post table with 4 toes)? Or is your table a dinette table on 2 metal pedestals that are held upright in a flat pancake type "thing" on the floor, the post insert, and then the table top sit on top of the posts. The table top is then used to convert the dinette into a bed?

If a stand alone table, the screws can be anchored back into the floor. Just move the table an inch any direction and you are good to go.

If it's the dinette table, you can pick up the floor inserts and simply rotate them and screw them to the floor. If your original was plastic, you can swap them out with aluminum.

If yours is a stand-alone table and the legs (feet) are now broken, you can replace with any kind of table that fits the space.

We just replaced our with a folding table that we can fold during travel and that we can take outside if we want too.

Thank you for all your suggestions. We now plan to either use metal bottom brackets or look at using two movable tables that can also be used at the recliners. Screws are still in the floor...have to figure out what to do with them.

Start a collection. Put them in a shoe box or a plastic sandwich zip bag and keep them. More than likely, you'll be removing something else from the camper someday. Those screws come in handy when you need a replacement for something else.

I have a gallon size zip lock food storage bag that is full of all sizes of screws and extra little "things" from items removed or broken from all my previous campers, including the one I currently have. And yes, those screws do come in handy for fixing other items.

Just keep a collection going. Who knows when they'll come in handy!

I do basically the same thing but with a variation. I use the zip lock 1 gallon freezer bag, they seem stronger to me. I sort stuff by type and put the sorted junk in either zip lock " snack size" bags or in what I call "drug dealer bags". The latter typically come with something I've ordered and used like mounting screws.

So small bags go into the big bag and if I need to search for something I just dump the big bag and then pick the small bag. Seems easier for my numb fingers to pick up the remaining stuff to place back into the bag. I have nerve damage so picking up a bunch of small screws can be frustrating and hard on the ears of folks around me.
