So it is ideal to crack the vents even in the winter time?

"Ideal" depends on where you're at and the conditions around you. It's a good idea to have ventilation in some areas, but if you're in a "dusty, arid climate" it may not be a good idea to open or even crack open the vents, if you're going to have dust or sand storms filling the trailer with dirt.

Each "climate type" deserves a good look, weigh the conditions and determine if it's beneficial or if opening the vents might make things worse than just keeping them closed.....
