I would check with manufacturer to be sure. I don’t think it would damage it. I would just make sure you turn off the water heater. I don’t know what will happen when getting the bleaching solution hot.

Our Raptor has a tank overflow that looks to be like a 1" line. It's actually on the curb side (opposite the fill location). The manual says there is a U-shaped cover that slides up, exposing the vent line and a bug screen. Remove the bug screen and use a funnel to add the bleach solution to the tank. Simple.

When I sanitize our fifth wheel I take the city water hose off and drain it and pour in a @/2 cup bleach in the hose and reconnect hose and turn water fill water tank and run water pump and open each faucet till I smell bleach.. let it sit for 24 hours and then drain fresh water tank and refill and run water pump and flush all faucets.

Thats My method . pour bleach into water fill hose using a funnel ...hook hose to faucet on house and fill tank i also run it thru my outside pre filter housing (without a filter cartridge in it ).... all 3 get sanitized in one process..
Be sure to rinse well....
