Just received my new v air 400p. Question can I run it off my camper battery without any issues or should I run it off the truck battery

If you were plugged in to shore power I wouldn’t think it’s a problem.. I’ve only used mine once or twice .. when I went to Florida i carried a spare 12 volt battery in the back of my truck.. I just used that

I've never ran mine off the RV battery because it's easier to get to my truck battery. What are you going to do....just top off tires? Air up a flat? I figure it would be ok for just a quick top off but I wouldn't set her down and try to air up a flat tire off the RV battery.

My opinion based on what I do, which is carry 2 batteries, always fully charged and always nearly new; use it to top off the tires if need just a few pounds. That Viair sucks some juice when running full tilt seems to me. Then, I would want to recharge them immediately. If you have only one battery I would be hesitant or extremely vigilant/aware of what I was doing.

I have used mine a couple or 3 times from the trailer batteries when plugged into shore power without incident. And several times off the dual batteries of the truck while the engine was running, also without incident.

I use mine connected to the RV battery when I blow out my water lines to winterize.

You can use it with your rv battery of course but the reason I said only when plugged in is because you don’t want to deplete the battery say 25% and go to bed and find you don’t have enough battery to run the furnace all night boondocking and they say you should always have a fully charged battery for operating slides
