Tired of waiting, Fixed it myself!!

On our Montana HC 305rl, the factory weld (if you can really call it that) let loose on the aluminum stud which the cable slide pulley is mounted to. Since it's a 2016 the warranty was out, the repair shop I went to contacted Keystone and to my surprise they admitted there is a problem and that Keystone may pay for at least some of the repairs. Aaaahhhhh, I breathed a sigh of relief. Well, we waited, and we waited so finally I asked the shop to just give me an estimate and I'd pay, and if Keystone came up with some reimbursement that would be good and if not, well, it's out of warranty and I didn't expect any help in the first place, but the problem would be fixed. So, I waited for the shop to get the estimate worked up, which didn't happen, so, long story short, I fixed it myself!

I was surprised how easy it was to access the area. I've done many of my own repairs, but getting into the stud wall was a first. I've loaded a couple pictures of before and after. Keystone only had about 1" of weld to hold the stud in place, which would be sufficient for most places, but not where all the stress of the slide operation takes place. Hopefully the newer models are done right. Personally , I don't think the cable slides are any improvement, and our next RV won't have them!
