More than likely an eastern, however, can you tell us what you have for a unit?

We have NO idea what year model trailer you have, and yes, COMPLETE model number/year are important since model features are changed from year to year as production trailers are assembled.

That said, you can compare the "current model brochures" and pretty much determine that the 38FQ was/is only produced in the Goshen facility. That makes ALL 38FQ models "eastern editions". In the two brochures, you'll find these designations:

EASTERN Brochure: The 38FQ is listed by that designation
WESTERN Brochure: The 38FQ is listed (by the floorplan) as Eastern (in RED).

To my knowledge, the model designation decal (foil decal next to the main entry door) on all western edition trailers is marked with the designator WE at the end of the model number. Example: 260TBWE vs 260TB.

To confirm if you're still "unsettled" you can call the Keystone Customer Service department at (866) 425-4369 during normal business hours, give them your trailer VIN and they can, from the VIN, tell you specifically where your trailer was assembled.

All that, "the condensed version" is that using available information, 38FQ was only constructed in Goshen, so ALL 38FQ models are "eastern editions".

Brochures are typically printed the year before trailers are produced. In other words, 2023 model trailer production may find the brochures printed in early/mid 2022 so the documents are available in dealerships "when the models arrive". So, the brochures may have been printed up to a year before the production line actually started "rolling trailers down the line"...

It's quite likely that production limitations, production adjustments/changes were made after the brochures were printed. And, then we have that "pesky supply chain" to deal with. If, during the production run, when your specific trailer was manufactured, if there were any "shortages in parts" Keystone may have "run next door to the Cougar building" to get parts that can be substituted to keep the line running.... So you may find "subtle changes in floorplan" on any model and you may even find "drastic or dramatic changes" between the first models off the line and those being produced toward the end of the production run.

If you're unsure, call Keystone with your VIN and discuss the issues that concern you, but realize that "to Keystone" what you bought is what you bought, they are very unlikely to "rebuild a part of your floorplan to make it match the brochure"....

Sounds like you have the trailer already so take a look at the sticker by the entry door. There should be a 'WE' appended to the end of the trailer model number for western editions....at least that's what is done in the Cougar 1/2 ton lineup.

For example: Cougar '22RBS' = Eastern or '22RBSWE' = Western

Looking at the Keystone site it seems the 38FQ is offered on both 'coasts' without a change in model number.

Here are the Springdale East model and West model brochures. I didn't see any differences listed.

I would guess that if you purchased in Buffalo area you would be getting one manufactured in Indiana.

By the way, hope you have a 3/4 or 1 ton for that guy....that is one big boy travel trailer at over 11K GVWR!
