Tires

I have a 2022 Hideout. With less than 700 miles on the unit, I blew a tire and ruined the rim. Loadstar warranty has a one year no questions asked replacement policy.
They replaced the tire and rim.

1) I keep the tires at 80psi cold and had only been on the road for 15 minutes under 60mph. Could I have possibly picked up something on the road or are these tires junk? If so, what is a better tire for a single axle. We don't go more than 60 miles one way to camp.

2) I'm leery of going out again until I figure out what happened. This is a single axle. If I had a tandem, I figure I would have at least saved the rim?

Thanks,
Tom

Don’t know what brand tires you have presently. Trailer king are most of the brand they have a new trailers. They call them China bombs. Had them on my 2020 and just changed them out for good year endurance. Most on this site recommend good year endurance or Carlisle.

The tires typically provided from the factory are low bid specials....many complaints of early life blowouts. Google 'China Bombs'. Don't know if Loadstar falls into this category, but at $150 for a tire and rim, suspect the quality may not be all that great.

Do you see any indication of potential other problems? Rub marks in the wheel well area? Bent axles? (Unless overloaded, they should have a slight curve - high point in the center - to them). Unusual wear on the other tires?

I would suggest swapping out all 4 tires for a more reputable ST tire replacement like Goodyear Endurance, Carlisle HD or Sailuns.

Thanks. A friend of mine did refer to these tires as China Bombs. I guess I'm lucky they were under warranty. Will be looking into Endurance or Carlisle

Tom, I see you've been furnished Landstar for your RV. I would recommend changing both tires for Carlisle HD or Goodyear Endurance, maybe Maxxis and keeping your new tire for a spare only. Give the other two tires (your original spare and the one tire remaining) to someone for a utility trailer.
