Water Pump Voltage

Hi, not sure if this has already been discussed. I did a search and didn't find any discussion on this topic.

My camper has been in storage for a couple of years (through COVID) and I am getting ready to pull it out to use again. I am concerned that the water pump won't work so I want to purchase one beforehand before I test out the pump that is installed. I want to have the new one on hand in case I have to replace the pump.

What voltage is the pump? 12V?
What brand do you recommend?

Welcome to the forum

All RV water pumps are 12VDC. The two popular brands are Sure-Flo and Flo-jet. Since both pumps use different fittings it’s probably best to test first and if it’s failed, replace with the same brand.

Water Pump

I suspect that sure-Flo is correct and I just wanted to make sure it was 12V...I can't see the pump right now since the location of it is behind a panel I can only get to when the pull outs are extended...which means that I can't see it when it is in storage. I'm pulling it to my house to do work and my HOA is going to squawk at me If I have it at my house for over a day. I am going to bet and get the sure-flo and have it ready just in case I have to replace it...of course I'm going to want to test the one installed first and see if it works.....

I’m so glad I don’t have an HOA to deal with. My fiver is in my backyard, makes camping fees easy to afford.

Flo-jet u it s a good bet. You might want to get a filter in case it doesn’t have one.
