Recommended Campgrounds Around Boone NC

Does any have a great campground they would recommend around Boone, NC?

Flintrock Campground gets decent reviews on campgroundreviews.com.
I would also look at the COE campgrounds about 25 miles to the east on W Scott Kerr Reservoir.
I haven't been to either.

We have a site reserved @ teaberry hill 2nd week of August havent stayed there before but the pics look beautiful owner was great on the phone

I'm not certain if it's close enough for your desires but it looks like a real nice place from pics . We plan to do some motorcycle riding in the area ( tail of dragon Cherahola skyway etc.. )

As I haven't spent time there I'm reluctant to mention the place but I will say the owners were very kind and insisted this isn't a sardine campground 12 sites on 6 acres

I camped at Bandits roost Wilkesboro COE about 30 miles from Boone NC . We stopped at a Tom Dooley museum in Wilkesboro and bought a couple jars chow chow locally made . I rode all over that country and stop at Camp lajune visiting a old Marine Corps base I was stationed at .
