TPMS PSI Range

I'm looking at a variety of the TPMS systems, and see a range of what PSI they will monitor. My trailer has E tires, fill to 80 PSI. I'm pretty sure the TPMS systems I see that max at 87 are out, but it does make me wonder what is the normal range one gets when towing with an 80 PSI tire?

I'm not sure what systems you are looking at. I've always used a TST 507 TPMS system. Truck Systems Technologies. Others use TireMinder and then there are some others. Personally I would recommend the TST. It has a separate monitor and is not smartphone based which I dislike. LREs at 80psi are no problem and neither are LRG at 110psi.

Don't know any of the good TPMS systems that top out at 87psi....sort of useless. As far as what kind of pressure does an 80psi tire run when in use....it depends on a lot of variables; speed driven, inflation, outside temperature and even the side of the vehicle catching the sun's rays.

Just looked at my TST 507 manual and it says the pressure range for the sensors is 0 to 188 psi. I'm pretty sure none of us will have any issues with that range.

I have had a TireMinder for 5 years. The first trailer had 80 PSI and this one has 110 PSI. It has worked great. If I ever replace it I will do research to see what the TST or other brands have to offer.

Been using TST 507 for almost 9 years now.. I would have no other. I run tires with 110 psi and see 118 to 122 at various times depending on the ambient outside temps
