Tongue weight scales

Does anyone have experience with the etrailers scale
https://www.etrailer.com/Tools/etrailer/e99044.html

or any other brand/type. Along with our TT, I have a 18' enclosed trailer and I never really know the tongue weight as it gets loaded differently all the time.

I'd like to know the tongue weight before I hit the road and finding a CAT sale is not really efficient. I think I tend to having the TW heavier than I really need to just to be safe(r).

I understand that I don't exactly know the trailer weight, but I can estimate it within reason.

I have both the 0-2000 and the 5000 version in my tool box. Extremely happy with both.

I've used the Sherline for about 10 years now and love it. https://www.etrailer.com/Tools/Sherl...UaAsWUEALw_wcB

If you do get one, test it out. When I was working through my first summons from the Weight Police, I bought a little black Sherline, measured the TW several times, and used it for my preliminary calculations. A week or two later, I had occasion to repeat the process, and was shocked to find the reading significantly different, and equally repeatable, although the trailer had gone nowhere and I hadn't done anything to it. Now I don't really trust it.

The sherline scale does require some “special handling”, mine is NEVER lifted by the piston, and has been good as gold for the last 6 years. I know how much I weigh and I will stand on it occasionally to see just how accurate it still is.

Same thing that I do. I'm measuring on blacktop and I'll let it set for a min to eliminate any "cushioning" effect of the cribbing under it.
