Exclamation Dicor amount

Replacing the bathroom fan with a Maxair this weekend.
I bought two tubes of Dicor. Will that be enough or should I pick up more?

I replaced mine last year, two will be plenty.

I learned after I installed mine that I should have put down 1” RV butyl tape first, then put the fan on top of that, screw it down and then use the Dicor over everything.

With that said, I just used the Dicor and so far it hasn’t leaked. The reason for the tape is that most of Dicor will squeeze out when you tighten the screws. The tape will squish but will stay in any gaps better than the Dicor.

Dicor amount

One should be plenty. Save the second one for your next roof maintenance. If it comes with that foam gasket, toss it and use putty/butyl tape.

Suggest the butyl tape. Screw down the cover then cover the seam including all the screw heads with a 1 to 2 inch wide bed of Dicor self leveling.

Like others said, one tube is enough and use butyl tape under the flange.

Most hardware stores that have rv supplies have the butyl tape.
